One of the world’s most impoverished countries is the subject of a photography exhibit coming to St. Louis this weekend.
Art + Altruism is presented by The Big Picture Project, a local organization that aims to show the realities that exist around the world through photography. On Friday, July 21, from 6 to 9 p.m., the nonprofit will focus on Myanmar, a country that’s home to 60 million people, and where access to basic hygiene products like soap is becoming increasingly difficult.
All proceeds from the event will benefit The Big Picture’s partner organization, Sundara, which works to improve hygiene and overall quality of life throughout the Myanmar region in Southeast Asia.
The exhibit is on display in the Urban Ballroom inside the .ZACK in Grand Center. There is no charge for admission, but images from the show will be available for purchase, and donations to the organization are welcome.
Food and drink for purchase will also be available. Plus, attendees receive free admission into Sophie’s Artist Lounge & Cocktail Club following the event.
