Nancy and Ken Kranzberg

Ken and Nancy Kranzberg’s tireless efforts in transforming the Grand Center Arts District into an arts and cultural destination have earned the philanthropic pair the Landmark Association of St. Louis’ 2017 H. Meade Summers Jr. Award.

Since 2006, the couple’s Kranzberg Arts Foundation has invested more than $20 million in renovating performance and multi-use venues such as The .ZACK, The Marcelle, the Kranzberg Arts Center and The Grandel. Work has also begun on a permanent big-top facility for Circus Flora that will also host concerts and other events year-round.

Nancy Kranzberg says she envisions that Grand Center will play a great role in shaping St. Louis’ cultural identity.

“It can become what the French Quarter is to New Orleans, or the Lincoln Center to New York,” she declared, adding, “We believe that this is possible, and will happen in the next five to 10 years.”

The Kranzbergs will be honored during an award ceremony at the Boo Cat Club on Oct. 27. Nancy Kranzberg will be the subject of Gazelle STL’s “Take It from Me” profile in the magazine’s October issue.
